Margaret River – the perfect family holiday

A family holiday in Western Australia can still comprise of luxury 5 star Margaret River accommodation and plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied with safe swimming beaches and abundant natural attractions.  Margaret River, Western Australia the perfect destination for ‘the great outdoors’ and that special family holiday.

Let’s explore close to the beach house… …

Whilst the Surfers Point at Prevelly is internationally recognised for its spectacular surfing conditions, around the corner from the main surf areas you’ll find white sandy beaches and crystal clear rock pools to explore.

Directly in front of the house as you walk towards the beach you’ll cross a large park with a great set of slides, swings and climbing gear.   Just over the sand dune is the beach and a meandering beach path (suitable for walking, prams or bikes) that winds south along the bay to Gnarabup Beach or north over the hill to the rivermouth.

Gnarabup Beach is tucked in the southern corner of the bay, it’s a cruisy stroll along the beach path and is usually nice and calm and out of the wind.   Don’t forget to take the buckets and spades!

Head north to the rivermouth for some seriously fun boogie boarding (if your game) or canoeing down the river.  There are some awesome canoe and river tours which I recommend for 8 – 80 year olds!

Further afield there are plenty of attractions, tours and activities for the kids as well as wineries and breweries with childrens playgrounds.

Always remember to double check with each venue their opening times, tours time etc as these can change with the different seasons.
