BEST OF THE BEST DINING IN MARGARET RIVER
Wondering where the best dining spots are in Margaret River?
The hot spots touted by the West Australian Good Food Guide are many of our favourite winery restaurants and several main street venues.
Number 1 hot spot is the picturesque winery restaurant, Wills Domain, after being crowned the 2018 West Australian Good Food Guide Restaurant Of The Year, an impressive and well-deserved accolade.
Voyager Estate continues to deliver a truly magnificent dining experience winning Best Regional Restaurant, Best Regional Chef and placing #3 in Top 10 Restaurants. Other consistently top-notch local establishments in the coveted Top 10 Restaurants are Leeuwin Estate (pictured above) at #6 and Vasse Felix at #7. Other well known establishment Cullen Winery, Yarri in Dunsborough and Xanadu were named in the Top 50 Restaurants.
Finalists in the Best Casual Dining category were two local heroes, Fishbone, a casual Japanese restaurant at Fishbone winery and Pizzica, a little Italian pizza joint, underground in Margaret River’s main street.
You are spoilt for choice, with award-winning wineries and restaurants, boutique breweries and quirky cafes around every corner, you’re sure to find a unique and rewarding experience to satisfy your desire.
In the evening, the dining scene is mostly situated along the main street with everything from casual cafes, gourmet burgers, Asian takeaway and modern dining restaurants serving gourmet Australiana fare.
My dinner favourites are Morries, Miki’s Open Kitchen (Japanese), Swings Taphouse and Pizzica. Just out of town, over the bridge is the Brewhouse, a laid back micro brewery and beer garden on the edge of the Margaret River.
