Keeping the young ones entertained on holidays can often be a challenge so we’ve knuckled down and played around exploring some awesome attractions, tours and activities the whole family will enjoy!
Looking for Adventure?
Margaret River Adventure Co offer families something exciting and different, bespoke family adventures exploring unique spots just for you and your family.
You can get up close and personal with wild stingrays, enjoy a fat bike ride along secluded beaches and through mystical forests or explore ‘secret’ spots via 4WD that only the locals know about! Design your own experience with Cam or choose between the 3 hour micro adventure or full day tour – it’s up to you.
Make sure you pack your bathers, surfing is a local pastime here in Margaret River and learning to surf is seriously good fun for the entire family. Once you had the first lesson, I’m sure you’ll want to go back every day during your stay at The Roozen Residence. Margaret River Surf Academy is walking distance from the beach house.
Purely magical and awe-inspiring, the underground caves are phenomenal, it’s a must do. Which cave, I can’t say, they’re all different but equally epic. Choose your cave depending on your chosen route. If you’re heading north towards Yallingup, Nlgigi Cave or heading south towards Augusta, Lake, Jewel or Mammoth.
Equally spectacular are the Cape Leeuwin (south) and Cape Naturaliste (north) lighthouses. After an energetic climb enjoy the incredible ocean vista, you may even see a whale.
Cute and Cuddly Sunflower Animal Farm
Visit an interactive, hands-on farm with over 300 ‘oh so cute’ farm animals including kangaroos, Joey’s (baby kangaroos), lambs, piglets, cattle, llamas, horses and ‘Whistle’, the inquisitive Emu and 100’s more. These happy animals are the friendliest you’ll ever meet, they love people because visitors feed them all day.
On the Sweet Side
Miller’s Icecreamery, Gabriel’s Chocolate and Simmo’s Icecreamery and Fun Park will have you licking your lips.
Miller’s Icecreamery is a dinky-di Aussie dairy farm, their icecream is made from the freshest milk straight from the cow, milked daily by 3rd generation dairy farmers and oh, so yummy!
If your visiting in WA school holiday, you can watch the live milking show, meet some gorgeous “girls” in the “Milking Shed” and see milking the traditional way – by hand – and the modern way – by machine.
Simmo’s Creamery and Fun Park is a destination in itself with an all-weather 18 hole mini golf course, an adventure playground and of Edward the icecream eating emu!
My favourite chocolatier is Gabriel’s Chocolate, it’s the real deal. Gabriel’s transform the raw cacao bean into delicate, smooth, award winning chocolate, WA’s first bean to bar chocolate maker.
Still feeling peckish? Grab a spot of lunch at one of the many wineries or breweries with children’s playgrounds along the way.
