There is no excuse to hibernate this winter when the epic Cabin Fever Festival in Margaret River is calling!
With 30 unique events, think roaring open fires, cool tunes, sensational dining and decedent food pairing experiences. Hosted over 10 days and two weekends, from 13 – 22 July, the Cabin Fever programme is jammed with special one-off events guaranteed to warm your soul.
Here’s my top 5 picks:
Fondue by the Fire at Howard Park
14 + 15 July, 21 + 22 July
Both weekends during Cabin Fever, Howard Park Wines open their majestic cellar door for Fondue by the Fire. Fondue at it’s finest, delicious Cambray Sheep Cheese, award winning Howard Park wines, all whilst reclining in front of a roaring open fire.
Bastille Day lunch at Cape Mentelle
Saturday 14 July
Cape Mentelle will celebrate Bastille Day with a decedent long table lunch held in the estate’s iconic wine cellar. An intimate winter feast with rustic gourmet fare and the finest Cape Mentelle wines.
Wine and Chocolate pairing
Friday 20, Saturday 21 July
Local artisan food producer, Margaret River Providore, will be hosting a Wine and Chocolate masterclass, pairing delicious chocolates and premium wines. Yum! It doesn’t get any more decadent than that!
Beef and Bourbon at Morries
Wednesday 18 July
Iconic main street eatery Morries is teaming up with the award-winning distillery, Limeburners and local organic Farmhouse Butchers to deliver a special beef and bourbon paired dining experience. Feast on the perfect winter fare, tender and exotic pasture fed beef dishes created by Head Chef, Chris Mitchell complemented with smooth, caramel bourbons! Bookings are essential for this special event – be quick.
Beers, Blues and the Blaze at The Beer Farm
Saturday 21 July (Free event)
One of the Margaret River region’s newest breweries, originally a working dairy farm in Metricup has been converted into a rustic brewhouse, aptly named The Beer Farm. A unique experience, their catchphrase says it all – “cultivating good times, beers, steers and John Deer’s since 2015”.
As part of Cabin Fever, the boys will be hosting Beers, Blues, the Blaze and Food. The grill will be fired up roasting their very own paddock to plate meats. Add rocking live music, a blazing fire, beers on tap and you’ve got the quintessential Beer Farm experience.
With over 30 events spread across the region, some are free and others are limited, so check out Cabin Fever programme to help plan your perfect winter escape and get in early to book your tickets.
