Regularly, our international guests ask us “how to get to Margaret River”. There are several options, but by far the best is self drive especially as you will need a car when you are in the region.
Here are our recommendations :
By Car
It’s an easy straight forward, well sign posted 3 hour drive, especially with Google Maps and Siri!
All major car hire companies are located at both airports. For larger groups, people movers are also available.
Take the Kwinana Freeway out of Perth city, this will become Forrest Highway. Follow the signs to Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River travelling via the Bussell Highway.
Private transfers
My Driver Margaret River offers transfers from Perth City or Perth Airports to the Margaret River Region as a bundled package in combination with any of the private tour or small group tours and includes the option of a local driving service.
Airport Transfers
South West Airport Transfers offer a premium door to door transfer with four scheduled services daily.
By Bus
Bus services between Perth and Margaret River operate daily through South West Coach Lines. Call the Margaret River Visitor Centre on +61 8 9780 5911 for more information or to book a ticket over the phone.
Keep in mind you will still need to hire a car in Margaret River to get around or utilise one of our recommended tour operators to explore the region.
